Michelle Scappa

Michelle Scappa is an Italian dancer and choreographer whose artistic research spans performance, creation, and a deep interest in body language.

After training in Italy, he completed his studies at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance in Leeds in 2018, earning a Master's degree in Contemporary Dance Performance.

Since 2019, he has collaborated with companies and artists such as Mobius Dance, Saeed Hani, Kinkaleri, Gruppo Nanou, and Luna Cenere, exploring diverse poetics and practices.

At the same time, as a choreographer, he has been working with Sara Capanna, joined by Barbara Carulli in 2021. The collective created "Tracce | Looking for a Place to Die", a work that won the 2022 Theodor Rawyler Prize.

Since 2023, he has also been pursuing personal projects, authoring the works "There is a Planet" and "Papillon".

That same year, he graduated in Psychological Sciences and Techniques from the University of Florence, integrating his artistic practice with a theoretical and analytical approach to the mind and human processes.

He currently resides in Brussels, but develops his work between Italy and Belgium.
